Introduction
If you’re anything like me, you also follow discussion of uranium trends on Twitter (or X if you really want to call it that), Threads, BlueSky, and more. A significant problem there is that the discussion participants are global – thus you will see tickers tossed around that, once looked up on your local exchange, seem to have nothing to do with uranium. Here’s a decoder to help you out.
The “Standard Tickers” are preferentially formatted in the way you would query them via Yahoo Finance, as this is the way many automatic data providers format their ticker symbols. SeekingAlpha typically uses a colon in place of the period, and abbreviates exchanges differently. Other such platforms may use further different formatting conventions. The USD-quoted OTCQX 5-character symbols ending in “F” are provided for standardization across platforms for companies traded outside of US exchanges.
There’s a couple of tickers I’ve seen mentioned thus far that still elude me. They may have been bought by other companies, but if you happen to know them, we’d appreciate your contribution in the comments.
